Tiramisu is the famous Italian dessert made with biscuits soaked in coffee with mascarpone cheese and eggyolks

Ingredients

4 egg yolks
4 tbsp. sugar
17.6 oz. mascarpone cheese
2 tbsp. powdered sugar
  grated rind of 1 lemon
13.5 oz. cold espresso coffe
1.3 brandy
5.3 oz. - 7 oz.  ladyfingers biscuits
  bitter cocoa
3.5 oz,. strawberries (optional)

Preparation

  • Whip the egg yolks with the sugar until they are frothy. Add the mascarpone and lemon zest and mix thoroughly with a spoon.
  • Prepare a flat glass dish. In a bowl, mix the espresso with brandy. 
  • Arrange biscuits on the bottom of the dish and sprinkle with the mix of coffee and brandy.
  • Put the half of mascarpone cheese on top of the biscuits. Repeat procedure with remaining biscuits and finish with a layer of remaining mascarpone.
  • Cover and let stand for at least 5 hours in the refrigerator, ideally overnight. Sprinkle with cocoa and decorate with fresh strawberries when ready to serve.
