Galangal

Galangal belongs to the ginger family, sometimes called Siamese Ginger, is a popular spice in Thailand and other Southeast Asia countries. It can be bought in the dried, ground form but the best, like ginger, is to be used fresh. It is important ingredient in Thai curries and necessary for dishes such as Tom Yum soup.
