Indian cuisine is very rich in local, regional specialties but generally, one can differentiate between food and eating habits in the north of India and the south of India. South Indian food is spicier than the North Indian food. North Indian cuisine can be characterized by a wide use of diary products. South Indian cuisine uses more rice as the staple food.
